5 Days/4 Nights Amboseli National Park – Tsavo National Park camping safari
Our adventures in the bush begin with spectacular Amboseli National Park. Romantically situated in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli is famous for its tremendous variety of big game. We arrive at Amboseli by road at lunch time. Our delightful lcampsite is perfectly located in the very centre of the reserve.
We awaken to the sights and sounds of big game country and, if we’re lucky, to a view of Kilimanjaro often unclouded in the early morning sky. In addition to elephant, antelope, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and the rare black rhino, Amboseli is sought after by travelers in the know for its breathtaking scenery and easily approachable wildlife. Just after daybreak, we venture into the crisp morning air in search of the great herds. Our game drives are sure to reveal great wonders.
Awaiting us at our next stop is a sheltered oasis Tsavo National Park, with special attractions including Mzima Springs & underwater hippo watching, Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary among others. Tsavo National Park is unique and its habitat include open plains alternating with Savannah bush and semi desert scrub, acacia woodlands; rocky ridges and outcrops and more extensive ranges and isolated hills; belts of riverine vegetation; palm thickets and mountain forest.
Day 1 Nairobi – Amboseli
Drive across the Athi plains home of the proud Maasai tribe, to Amboseli National Park arriving in time for lunch. An afternoon ‘Spice’ game drive is planned. In addition to elephant, antelope, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and the elusive leopard, nearly every vista within the park is framed by majestic Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. Day 2 Explore Amboseli National Park
Amboseli is big game country, Two game runs are planned today, both which will introduce you to the intense beauty and drama that fill each day here. Predators stalk the herds of grazing animals, recreating the age-old drama of life and death under the African sun, in a setting so lushly beautiful. We return to our camp site for a steaming bath, cocktails and a sumptuous dinner. Overnight at our campsite (FB)
Day 3 Amboseli - Tsavo West National Park
Today we enjoy a game drive to the secluded heart of big game country. In addition to the animals, nearly every vista within the park is framed by majestic Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. Breakfast at the camp optional visit to a Maasai Village and depart for Tsavo West National Park.
After lunch, an afternoon ‘Spice’ game drive in this vast Park is planned. The Park comprises a diversity of habitats, open plains alternating with savannah bush and semi-desert scrub; acacia woodlands; rocky ridges and outcrops. With a permanent water source, the park is virtually guaranteed enormous herds and excellent game viewing. Overnight at our campsite (FB)
Day 4 Explore Tsavo West National Park
Two game drives are scheduled for this day. The extensive diverse habitats offer enormous herds and excellent game viewing. The Park is a vast expansion of African savanna with a more diverse array of habitats which include open plains, semi desert scrub, woodland, Chyulu Hills and rock outcrops. It’s famous for the Red Elephants, Oryx, and Gerenuk among other mammal’s species and bird life. Other notable features include Mzima Springs which are water source for Mombasa Town, Shetani Lava Flow and Ash cones, which is an example of recent volcanic eruption. Overnight at our campsite (FB)
Day 5 Tsavo – Nairobi
After an early morning ‘Spice’ game drive and breakfast, depart for your return journey to Nairobi arriving early afternoon.
